MacBook Pro Bulging Battery

I had a battery that just started bulging. It only took a couple of hours to go from flat to deformed. This is a picture of the battery sticking out of the bottom of the computer.

I had used the computer earlier in the day and this was not a problem. When I went to grab it again I noticed something was wrong when I picked it up. You can see the battery sticking up and still installed in the computer.

I took the battery out and left the computer on AC power.

Once the battery was out I shutdown the computer gracefully then unplugged it until I could get it fixed. I took my computer to my local Apple store (Barton Creek, Austin, TX) and they replaced the bad battery in just a few minutes. The battery problem was well known and was covered by an Apple replacement program for an extra two years (even though I have Apple Care on the computer for another couple years).
