The Tipping Point
Submitted by scott on Sun, 08/03/2008 - 7:03pm.I just finished reading The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference by Malcolm Gladwell. This is the second book I've read by this author, the first being Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking. I find his style easy to read and I agree with pretty much all the points in the book. I find some of the ideas interesting on how word of mouth epidemics spread.

A Scanner Darkly
Submitted by scott on Tue, 07/15/2008 - 9:40pm.I just finished reading A Scanner Darkly by Philip K. Dick. I'm sort of glad that I didn't see the movie now that I read the book. I didn't really enjoy the book and thought it was a bit weird. Not really my style.

Wizard's First Rule
Submitted by scott on Thu, 07/03/2008 - 10:36am.I just finished reading Wizard's First Rule by Terry Goodkind. I've been reading the Sword of Truth series all out of order. I started on book 9 of the series Chainfire because I saw it at the book store in an MP3 format. I really prefer the audio books in MP3 format already and that one was on 2 discs. This book was also in MP3 format already but in comparison to the number of discs, I listened Phantom (book 10) and it was on 20 discs.

Tuesdays with Morrie
Submitted by scott on Fri, 04/04/2008 - 4:16pm.I just finished reading Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom. This is the third book I've read of his, the other two being The Five People You Meet In Heaven and For One More Day. This book made me think about the memorable teachers that I have had in my life and of neglected friendships. It is certainly an interesting book and if you listen to the audio book version, the last chapter is comprised of snippets of the original taped interviews with Morrie.

The 4-Hour Workweek
Submitted by scott on Sat, 03/22/2008 - 8:29am.I just got through reading the book:
The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich
by Timothy Ferriss
http://www.amazon.com/4-Hour-Workweek-Escape-Live-Anywhere/dp/0307353133
It is an interesting read and I look forward to getting in a few mini retirements now instead of waiting many more years to enjoy life. One of the benefits of doing contracting and consulting is that I can work at a high pace for a few months then take off a month or two to relax, travel, and enjoy life.
